Summary
Location: Nottinghamshire (with travel across the region)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: £27,471 per annum
Contract: Fixed term until March 2026 (extension subject to funding)
Reporting to: Domestic Abuse Support Service Manager
As the Male IDVA (City Safe Accommodation), you'll support men facing domestic abuse to access safe accommodation, navigate complex housing issues, and rebuild their lives. You will work closely with a network of local partners including housing providers, local authorities, and specialist domestic abuse organisations to deliver a joined-up, survivor-led support service.
This is an exciting opportunity to:
- Deliver trauma-informed, high-quality support to male survivors.
- Establish and maintain effective partnerships to enhance access to safe housing.
- Drive awareness of male domestic abuse within local communities and stakeholder organisations.
- Shape service development by listening to survivors and using their feedback to improve our support.
- Provide one-to-one support to male survivors, including risk assessments, safety planning and housing advocacy.
- Develop strong referral pathways and partnerships with housing services, homelessness organisations and domestic abuse providers.
- Advocate for male survivors within the criminal justice system and wider support services.
- Contribute to the strategic development of Equation's male survivor services.
- Ensure accurate case recording and contribute to service monitoring, reporting and quality assurance.
- Support marketing and awareness campaigns about domestic abuse against men.
- Uphold safeguarding principles and Equation's commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
We are seeking someone who is:
- Experienced in supporting vulnerable individuals, ideally with knowledge of domestic abuse and housing-related challenges.
- Skilled in partnership working and confident in engaging a range of stakeholders.
- Committed to survivor-led, person-centred practice.
- Passionate about improving outcomes for men affected by domestic abuse.
- Flexible, proactive, and able to work independently across a range of environments.
