The Head of Hard and Infrastructure Services is an integral member of the Estates and Campus Services Executive Team, supporting the Director of Estates and Campus Services in providing a proactive, effective, and professionally led Hard and Infrastructure service that supports the University of Northampton strategy and Estates Development Framework.

The post holder will lead a team responsible for the delivery of Projects and Infrastructure, Building Services, Timetabling & Space Management and Environment and Sustainability. This could involve the delivery of large multi-million-pound projects which must be met on time, on budget and to the standard required by policy, standard and legislation. They will also lead the planning and delivery of Estate development in accordance with the University Strategic Plan and formulate bids to funding agencies and external bodies across all areas of responsibility.

They will engage with stakeholders at a strategic level to deliver the above services and act as the professional lead for technical advice and guidance to ensure adherence to legislative and legal requirements.

About you

The successful candidate will;
- Have extensive experience in delivering significant refurbishment and construction projects to time and budget
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge of industry legislation and applicable codes of practice
- Have experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment preferably in a public sector organisation
- Be able to inspire and lead others within a complex multi-functional department that has a considerable change management programme to achieve
- Have experience or be knowledgeable regarding timetabling systems, their constraints and be able to implement improvements
- Be a proven inspirational leader demonstrating integrity and professionalism, a commitment to ethical standards, confidentiality, and the University’s values of inclusivity, trust, sustainability and aspiration

Qualifications

Essential;
- Construction related degree or equivalent in surveying, architecture, building services, engineering or project management.
- Professional qualification, charter or equivalent.
- PRINCE 2 Project management methodologies or equivalent

- General Management Qualifications
