About the role
The SUDS Engineer has a key role within the delivery of AMP8 projects across the Anglian Water region in a variety of settings, rural, urban and public realm. The SuDS Engineer will have a good understanding of hydraulic design principles including peak flow and volume control in accordance with the CIRIA SuDS Manual and non-statutory technical standards for sustainable drainage systems. They will have experience in developing innovative SuDS solutions to provide multiple benefits including the reduction of spills from combined sewer overflows and flood mitigation. The SUDS Engineer plays a vital role in the delivery of these solutions from initial optioneering to the provision of support during the construction phase. Using their good communication skills, the SuDS Engineer liaises with various external stakeholders, including highway authorities, private landowners, local authorities, community groups and businesses, to develop mutually acceptable solutions. The SuDS Engineer works within the multi-disciplinary environment of the @one Alliance liaising with internal stakeholders including the solutions, modelling, survey co-ordination, CAD, enabling, customer and construction teams as well as interfacing with specialist landscape architects and operational contacts. During the initial project stage, working with the Anglian Water project lead and @one solutions team to identify preferred SuDS solutions for design development. This role adopts a hybrid working model although it is expected that the SuDS Engineer will collaborate face to face with teams two to three days a week, including visits to sites and to external stakeholders across the region. Using an interest in the environmental design, landscape architecture and ecology, the role harnesses an enthusiasm for sustainably improving the environment.

What you'll be doing
Who we're looking for
- Development of SuDS retrofit designs with co-ordination of the multidisciplinary teams within @one Alliance,
- Experience in the use of hydraulic modelling software such as MicroDrainage, Causeway Flow or InfoDrainage,
- Developing and utilising Asset Standards applicable for SuDS,
- Ability to apply relevant CIRIA documents & British Standards in the design of SuDS features,
- Ability to apply fundamental design principles of pipelines (gravity flow), flow in open channels and SuDS features,
