Teacher of Modern Foreign Language (French and/or Spanish)
M1 - UPS3: £31,650 - 49,084 per annum
Full Time, Permanent Position
Required from September 2025
The Joseph Whitaker School is a successful and over-subscribed 11-18 school, in Rainworth, a village just outside of Mansfield. It serves the three local villages of Blidworth, Rainworth and Ravenshead and has around 1330 students.
We are seeking to appoint a talented teacher of French and/or Spanish. We deliver both languages at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 with around 45% of the Key Stage 4 cohort studying at least one language at GCSE.
The successful candidate will be passionate and be able to work as a member of the MFL faculty to ensure the consistent promotion of language learning and to secure the best outcomes for all of our students. This position would be ideal for either someone looking to broaden their experience of music teaching in another school, or an ECT teacher.
As a school we offer:
a strong team environment that takes staff well-being seriously
a dedicated Senior Leadership Team who want to see colleagues progress and flourish in their careers
support from the wider Trust including numerous CPD opportunities
access to Schools’ Advisory Service, offering mental health and wellbeing support to staff
Generous employer contribution to Teachers Pension Scheme
Cycle to work scheme
On the application form, please focus on a detailed 'supporting statement' taking into account the person specification and indicating why you would be the best person for us to recruit to this position.
Please email headteacher@josephwhitaker.org if you would like to arrange a tour of the school prior to application and/or interview.
The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post, will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK. The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Safeguarding checks will be undertaken during the recruitment process and this may include online searches.
We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or religion.
The closing date for applications is 9am on Monday 31st March 2025.
Interviews will take place on Thursday 3rd April 2025.
