The Role

As Director of Inclusion, you will provide strategic leadership and management of the school’s inclusive practices, ensuring that every student receives the tailored support they need to succeed. You will drive a culture of equity, accessibility, and high expectations, ensuring that learning, achievement, and behaviour standards are met for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop the school’s inclusive practices, ensuring all students can access high-quality education and support.
• Develop and implement policies that promote equity, diversity, and inclusion across the school.
• Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies to support students with SEMH needs.
• Ensure high standards in learning, attainment, and behaviour for all students.
• Provide expert guidance and training to staff to strengthen inclusive teaching and behaviour management practices.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of inclusion strategies, driving continuous improvement.
• Lead on whole school attendance improvement strategies, focusing on reducing persistent and severe absenteeism and preventing suspensions
• Oversee the development of a highly effective SEND framework, ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP requirements
• To lead on the analysis of internal and external examination results following their publication with a key focus on SEND and identified vulnerable groups

Who We Are Looking For:

• A qualified teacher with at least 5 years current teaching experience in a mainstream secondary setting 11-16.
• A passionate and experienced leader with a strong track record, preferably in inclusion, SEND, or pastoral leadership.
• Ideally someone with a deep understanding of SEMH needs and how to create an inclusive and supportive school culture.
• Excellent strategic and operational leadership skills.
• The ability to inspire, motivate, and develop staff to deliver outstanding support for students.
• A commitment to high expectations and unlocking the potential of every student.
