You will work as an autonomous nurse specialist assessing and supporting patients whilst in the acute phase of their admission to us. You will be fully supported in this role with peer support as well as clinical supervision. Responsibilities: As a band 7 paediatric mental health nurse specialist you will - - Have primary responsibility for the provision of specialist nursing for a defined patient/client group, practicing autonomously as a core member of the multi-disciplinary team. - Be responsible for leading a team (in the absence of the team lead) to provide the safe therapeutic management of a defined patient / client caseload. - Be the identified key worker for a patient/client caseload to co-ordinate / oversee therapeutic treatment and care. - Provide specialist advice, education and support to patients, their carers and other health care professionals. Practice clinically in agreed care settings and advise and support Divisions regarding the overall management of the service. - Work across professional, departmental and Trust boundaries as required to develop and support patient-centred seamless care, with particular responsibility for leading nurse-led care initiatives. Experience/skills: - Be a registered mental health nurse or be a registered paediatric nurse with a background within mental health - Level 7 Post Grad Cert (Min 60 Credits), Masters Degree within relevant speciality or equivalent knowledge to be assessed through evidence of relevant speciality training, experience or portfolio - Have specialist clinical skills and experience as a band 6 or equivalent within a mental health setting. - Provide evidence of supporting colleagues to promote learning in practice providing an excellent learning environment for all
