We have an exciting opportunity to join the Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property (IP) Team within Research & Innovation Services. We are seeking to appoint an exceptional administrator who is motivated, enthusiastic, and a proactive team player who can work effectively in a flexible and responsive environment.

As a member of our busy IP Management team, you will deliver a professional and efficient service including administrative support to the IP Manager, financial administration, organising and minuting meetings, and support IP management processes. An essential part of this role will be working with our IP database, data administration and assisting with communication to relevant stakeholders.

You will:

Build effective working relationships and liaise confidently with your stakeholders and have the inter-personal skills to succeed in large, collaborative teams
Have excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise to manage your own workload effectively
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and have up-to-date MS Office skills
The role may suit either a motivated individual with relevant work experience or a recent graduate with some experience looking for an opportunity to explore career opportunities within a higher education environment.

This is an opportunity to engage with Intellectual Property and the University’s Knowledge Exchange and Enterprise activities. Previous experience of IP is desirable, but not essential, for this role as training will be given.

The University has an excellent benefits package and a flexible home/office hybrid working model supporting real work/life balance.

Our vision and mission at the University of Southampton is to have a community where staff and students feel welcome, supported and valued.
