The Environmental Health Officer LBS-008 (Project) plays a crucial role in promoting public health by ensuring that environmental conditions meet safety standards and regulations. Responsibilities
Conduct field inspections of environmental sites to ensure compliance with health regulations.
Analyze environmental data and assess risks associated with potential hazards.
Develop and implement public education programs on environmental health issues.
Collaborate with local governments and organizations to promote best practices in environmental health.
Prepare detailed reports and documentation on inspection findings and recommendations.
Investigate complaints and incidents related to environmental health concerns.
Stay updated on environmental health regulations and standards to ensure compliance.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Public Health, or related field required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental health or a related area preferred.
Strong knowledge of environmental laws and regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for community engagement and education.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Proficient in using technology and software for data analysis and reporting.
All candidates must posses the baseline qualification for Food Law regulation and have recent experience doing food business inspection - EHRB registration
(HCC) A comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and national policy.
(HCC) A detailed specialist knowledge of the legislation relating to the activities of the Environmental Regulation Section and a knowledge and understanding of the legislation applicable to Health & Safety, Food Safety, Infectious Disease Control and Housing, including Regulations, Statutory Instruments, Technical Guidance, Codes of Practice, Industry Guides, Government Circulars, British Standards.
