Summary

AA Euro Group are seeking an experienced Appointed Person – Lifting Operations to join a Tier 1 contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across the UK. The successful candidate will play a critical role in planning, coordinating, and overseeing lifting operations in compliance with health, safety, and legal regulations.

Key Responsibilities

    Develop and implement safe lifting plans in accordance with LOLER and BS 7121 regulations.


    Conduct risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for lifting operations.


    Coordinate and oversee crane and lifting activities on large-scale infrastructure projects.


    Liaise with site teams, crane operators, and subcontractors to ensure safe execution of lifting tasks.


    Ensure all lifting operations adhere to industry best practices and company policies.


    Conduct pre-lift meetings and toolbox talks to communicate lifting plans and safety procedures.


    Maintain accurate documentation of lifting operations, including permits and records.


    Provide technical guidance on lifting methodologies and equipment selection.


    Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and assist in audits and inspections.


    Requirements

      CPCS Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) – A61 certification.


      Proven experience in lifting operations within large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g., highways, rail, energy, or civil engineering).


      Strong knowledge of LOLER, PUWER, BS 7121, and CDM Regulations.


      Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills.


      Ability to work in high-pressure environments and make critical safety decisions.


      Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.


      Desirable Qualifications

        SMSTS or SSSTS certification.


        Experience working with mobile cranes, tower cranes, and heavy lifting equipment.


        First Aid at Work qualification.
