Pinnacle Group are looking for an outstanding Head of Building Safety to lead our Building Safety function overseeing the implementation of all building and fire safety responsibilities within our portfolio of residential properties. The role involves ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 and the Fire Safety Act 2021, amongst other specific regulations, through advice to clients and setting tasks for our own teams.

This successful candidate will be a subject matter expert and the figurehead for building safety within the business supporting operational teams to adopt client building safety cases and keep them under review to ensure that they remain compliant, reflecting best practice. Operating with a high degree of autonomy and leading a small expert team, this represents a rare opportunity for an individual of exceptional calibre. This role will grow with the business and as such responsibilities may evolve based on the organisation's changing needs.

You will be joining our Affordable Housing team based in London. The Affordable Housing team operates a large mixed portfolio of new and existing Affordable homes nationwide comprising Affordable and Social Rent, Shared Ownership and Supported homes. This is a hybrid role with weekly national travel required.

Key responsibilities:

• Support operational teams and our clients in the development and maintenance of building safety cases for high-risk buildings in accordance with the Building Safety Act.
• Develop and maintain systems to monitor and manage compliance with the Building Safety Act and other relevant legislation.
• Ensure the maintenance of the Golden Thread of information that is accurate, relevant and up to date.
• Serving as the organisation’s subject matter expert on building safety compliance, providing advice and guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders alike.
• Developing and maintaining constructive relationships with Building Safety Regulators.
• Conducting regular audits and reviews to identify and address gaps in compliance and site processes.

Key Requirements:

• Extensive experience in building safety, compliance, and systems management.
• In-depth knowledge of building safety legislation and regulation, including the Building Safety Act 2022 and relevant statutory requirements.
• Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing teams and driving organisational compliance.
• Demonstrable ability to develop and enforce safety and compliance policies.
• Experience in gathering risk data through inspections, checklists, and audits.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Gravitas, with the ability to engage effectively with regulators, residents, and senior leaders.
• Ability to design and implement effective resident engagement strategies for building safety.
• Strong stakeholder management experience across multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven ability to manage complex workloads independently and set performance standards.
• Relevant qualifications in construction, architecture, engineering, fire safety, surveying or risk management (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH, RICS).
• Membership of professional bodies (e.g., IOSH, RICS, CIOB, RIBA, CIBSE, IFSM).
