Junior Commercial Gas Engineer – FM Service Provider – Hatfield, Hertfordshire – £42,000
Are you looking to get into commercial gas ?
CBW Staffing Solutions is currently recruiting for a Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer to carry out planned and reactive commercial maintenance across a large commercial building in Hatfield. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Facilities Maintenance and have a proven track record in commercial building maintenance.
This position would be ideal for someone looking to get into commercial gas or in a similar position who is looking for a role close to home. In return, the company is offering a competitive salary of up to £42,000 with a potential route into further career progression. The successful candidate will have a background in plumbing, domestic gas wanting to get into commercial gas or someone with previous experience as a commercial gas engineer. Extensive experience in commercial building maintenance is essential. The ideal candidate will have experience in boilers, burners and boosters.
Package & Working hours
- Basic Salary of up to £42,000
- Monday – Friday 08:00 am – 17:00 pm
- Travel time paid other than first and last half hour
- 1 hour paid lunch break .
- Holidays: 33 days – 25 standard with 8 stat days
- Personal development programme

Key Duties & Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for delivering, services, repairs and maintenance throughout commercial properties.
- Reactive maintenance throughout client portfolio of properties
- Self-delivery of smaller installations
- Cover a portfolio of contracted buildings repairing and maintaining various systems.
- Have the ability to diagnose and identify faults and failures within the equipment
- Order and fit parts or components to the equipment when required.
- Reactive and planned commercial maintenance.
- Providing high level of customer service and building strong relationship
- Provide a service that ensures all key performance indicators (KPI) / service level agreements (SLA) are met.
- Provide a multi-skilled maintenance service, which covers electrical, mechanical and building fabric disciplines.
Requirements
- Ability to service and fault find on commercial gas appliances using electrical testing equipment.
- Ability to use own initiative to problem solve in challenging situations.
- Industry standard completed apprenticeship.
- Full clean driving license
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible to support the role and all members of the team.
- Able to work alone under limited supervision.
- Able to operate handheld electronic device.
- Domestic gas qualifications – CENWAT, Gas boosters – BMP (Desirable)
- Commercial Gas qualifications (Desirable)
- Forced draught burner experience. (Desirable)
