Summary

Purpose of Role

An opportunity has arisen to join a team of Decision Makers in the Disclosure Unit at Phoenix House in Mansfield. The successful candidate will undertake background checks on individuals applying for certain licences, or substantial access to children and/or vulnerable adults, as part of the Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) process. The post holder will be required to assess information against guidance to decide whether the information passes the threshold for disclosure. Decisions must be supported by a clearly written rationale that takes into consideration various factors.

This role requires high levels of accuracy and attention to detail, as failure to disclose relevant information could expose children or vulnerable adults to the risk of harm.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

The post holder must have experience of inputting and extracting information from databases and assessing information against guidance. Strong time management skills are required as the department are expected to adhere to strict service level agreements regarding volumes and timescales. The successful candidate will have good keyboard and computer skills and be experienced in using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and databases. The post holder must have excellent communication skills, in particular written communication.
