Position Overview: The Grade 3 Pre-School Assistant will support the delivery of early years education and care to children in a pre-school setting. Under the guidance of qualified teachers and senior staff, the role involves assisting in the planning and implementation of activities, promoting a safe and stimulating environment, and helping children to develop their social, emotional, and academic skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the delivery of early years education, supporting children’s learning and development.
Support children in their day-to-day activities, promoting independence, social skills, and positive behaviour.
Help with the preparation and organization of educational resources and activities.
Ensure children’s welfare and safety, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Observe and monitor children’s progress, reporting any concerns to senior staff.
Assist with mealtimes, toileting, and other personal care tasks where necessary.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to promote the development of each child.
Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and parent consultations as required.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
NVQ Level 2 in Childcare or equivalent (desirable).
Experience working with children in an early years setting (desirable).
Knowledge of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work as part of a team.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
