Glasgow High Court have unique job opportunities for 2 x Support Grade Assistants to join them on a full time permanent basis.

The main role of the Support Grade Assistant is to provide support to Judges, Clerks of Court and all court users and visitors within Glasgow High Court, including jury attendants and witnesses. The aim is to ensure the smooth running of all court business on a daily basis and to make sure that all court users have a positive experience wherever possible. You will work closely with SCTS Justice Partners including Crown Office, Police, GeoAmey and Witness Service.

At the basis of everything that happens in the courts are the Support Grade staff.

Some of your key responsibilities would be;

Responsible for the management of jurors and seclusion of the jurors when considering their verdict.
Undertakes reception duties, providing a high quality service by dealing effectively with incoming phone calls, court users and contractors.
Escorting the Judge to and from the court, assisting with robing.
Undertakes general duties within court, including calling of witnesses, handling of productions, escorting the Judge to and from court, liaising with witnesses and jurors as required to keep them informed of the ongoing proceedings and assisting with CCTV evidence cases.
Helps to ensure security and appropriate standards of behaviour are maintained within the court building.
Carries out administrative support duties to assist the smooth running of the court offices, including filing, photocopying and distributing internal court papers.
