Join our dynamic Corporate Communications Team and become a key driver of innovative communication and engagement strategies, continuous improvement and organisational excellence. This position is instrumental in leading on the Force strategic priorities, providing strategic and tactical advice to the Chief Officer Team. You will be at the heart of building public confidence in Cleveland Police, whilst leading a talented team of Communications specialists, and fostering excellent stakeholder management.

This is both an exciting and rewarding position, where you will work with local and national media on fast paced news stories of national interest and importance. This post gives you the opportunity to showcase your creativity, as well as demonstrate expertise and knowledge of the political landscape and Public Affairs, and the impact these can have on local services and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional advice, guidance and support to the Chief Officer Team and other senior managers
• Lead and develop a team of Communications professionals to deliver a range of effective communication services, driving engagement and improving organisational effectiveness
• Develop and implement effective strategies and tactical delivery plans
• Identify risks and develop strategies to mitigate
• Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, driving effective relationships with the OPCC, media, partner agencies and local authorities
• Work with local and national media, using sound judgement in relation to the political landscape

You will be highly capable of building and maintaining strong relationships, and possess a strategic mindset with a creative edge. As an expert in communications and engagement you will drive change, elevating practices to promote excellence, innovation and impact.
