We are looking for Paediatrics and Neonatology trainees ST3 and above/equivalent or post CCT specialist trainee in paediatrics or neonatology, starting onwards from September 2025.
GMC registration and NHS clinical experience is essential for this role.
The posts will be based at Royal London Hospital and Newham Hospital which are part of Barts NHS Trust and they will be encouraged to work on collaborative projects.
The successful post holder for this post will be involved primarily with developing educational opportunities within Paediatrics and Neonatology through a wide range of teaching modalities including simulation- based training, clinical skills, lectures, teaching clinics, a bedside teaching to both undergraduate and post graduate medical trainees. Trainees with an interest in developing/establishing digital learning/platform for teaching are welcomed.
The Education Academy within Barts Health is expanding in response to the need with increasing numbers of students and trainees and commitment to offer the best educational experience for our trainees. There is a real need to ensure that students receive excellent educational opportunities, including access to emerging digital technologies.
This exciting and varied role will provide you with multiple opportunities to further develop your teaching skills and your special interests within medical education. You will be actively involved in setting up and delivering as a part of a motivated team a varied teaching program for undergraduate medical trainees and postgraduate paediatric doctors, nurses and allied health professionals across general paediatrics and neonatology at both sites. The post will allow you to develop your teaching skills and be able to facilitate small group teaching, teach at the bedside and deliver lectures to multidisciplinary groups.
The post holder will have the opportunity to work across sites with other education fellows. All fellows joining our team will be invited to join our Education Forum where fellows have access to a structured development programme. All our fellows are encouraged to undertake a PG Cert in Education. For those who already have this there will be an opportunity to undertake ILM3 (Leadership & Management Course). Funding will be available towards supporting this.

Mile End hospital is a shared facility in Mile End for a range of inpatient, rehabilitation, mental health and community services. And St Bartholomew’s in the City, London’s oldest hospital, is a regional and national centre of excellence for cardiac and cancer care.
As well as district general hospital facilities for three London boroughs, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest and Newham, we have the largest cardiovascular centre in the UK, the second largest cancer centre in London, an internationally-renowned trauma team, and the home of the London Air Ambulance. The Royal London also houses one of the largest children’s hospitals in the UK, a major dental hospital, and leading stroke and renal units.
The contract is 12 month, fixed-term. 40% of the time will be dedicated to Education Delivery. 60% of the time will be undertaken within the chosen Clinical Speciality. This is a 40 hour week contract with the aim of minimal on calls, nights or weekends as part of this post. This will be agreed before appointment and in response to clinical and professional development need. Banding 1B on MN37 pay scale
