This is an ideal opportunity to obtain more experience in paediatrics,delivering quality inpatient and outpatient services. Previous experience of working in this field is desirable. You will besupported in developing your skills and knowledge, andprovided with the appropriate training necessary if needed.Ideally we are seeking an experienced dietitian to appoint at Band 7. However, we will consider a less experienced Dietitian to appoint at Band 6, progressing to Band 7 following the successful achievement of Band 7 competencies within one year. You will join three other paediatric dietitians. You should have good communication skills, be effective in MDT working and deliver group education and individual interventions for patients.You will be involved in the development of policies and guidelines for the treatment of neonates, liaise with Community services.You will be required to undertake teaching/training of other staff. You will have the opportunity to for research, audits and other service development. You will be involved in student training. The dietetic department undertakes student training for placements 2 and 3. We have a robust CPD programme. In order to support you, you would receive training and supervision tailored to your needs.

To take the lead role and responsibility to provide a comprehensive Nutrition and Dietetic Service to the neonatal unit including intensive care and outpatients Paediatric clinics at the North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust (NMUH). To lead on overseeing general paediatrics services. To lead on Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN), with training, for neonates and general paediatrics. To take the lead role for the development and provision of education programmes for patients and staff within and out-with the Trust, and to develop education resources. To take the lead for producing, implementing, and updating policies and procedures. To lead on and regularly participate in research and audit within paediatrics and the wider Dietetic Service. To participate in seven-day service on a rota basis. To undertake the planning, organisation, allocation, and training of student training. Multidisciplinary team working, close liaison between acute and community teams, and highly developed skills in communicating with patients, carers, and other service users is essential. To be responsible for supervision of junior staff.

To be responsible for the development and provision of highly specialised dietetic advice and treatment to inpatients in the areas of paediatrics services, which includes the Neonatal intensive care unit, inpatients and outpatients.To be responsible for the strategic planning, development and provision of these highly specialised services, and to other areas as and when required in response to service needs.

To develop and support delivery of care pathways for neonatal inpatient and outpatient pathways.

To be responsible for the complex and safe discharge planning.

To take the lead and be responsible for the development and implementation of policies and guidelines.

To organise and undertake the training programme for staff, studentdietitians.

To be responsible for the regular clinical supervision, appraisals, training of allocated junior staff.

To work as part of the Dietetic Department Team, participating in departmental developments and projects.
