This is a new band 7 post created during the redesign of the Nutrition & Dietetic service. You will work as a NELFT Paediatric Dietitian specialising in home enteral feeding (HEF) across Waltham Forest. This is a new service within the paediatric team but the postholder will be supported by the adult HEF team.
The candidate must have the following;
• HCPC registration
• Recognised Dietetic degree qualification or equivalent.
• Clinical knowledge & experience in paediatrics and in enteral feeding.
• Be able to work with a range of stakeholders including Nutricia, parents & carers and the Dietetic team
• Effective organisational skills- to be able to prioritise and manage own workload within time and financial constraints.
This is an exciting new development within the N&D team and the role will suit a good collaborator who would relish the opportunity to shape and develop this new service. You will have the support of a Dietetic Assistant.
To develop and manage a new service providing HEF to our paediatric patients within Waltham Forest. This will entail advising patients, their carers, Dietetic Assistants, GP's and healthcare practitioners on the use of enteral feeds and also giving face to face reviews and consultations.
The support and management of the junior staff, who also work with nursing & residential homes, students and Dietetic Assistants are key to this role.
Also integral to this role is the development of strong relationships with GP's, patients, carers, MDTs and the wider NELFT Specialist Children's Nursing Service and the Nutrition & Dietetic team.
