We are looking for an experienced Data and Systems Officer to join the Outbreak Data Analysis Platform (ODAP) at the University of Edinburgh. This role is central to managing and optimising large-scale genomic and clinical data, developing software tools, and ensuring efficient data integration for key clinical studies (GenOMICC, www.genomicc.org, ISARIC CCP, www.isaric3c.net).

This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.

The Opportunity:

The Data and Systems Officer will play a critical role in managing, curating, and optimising data flows, pipelines, and systems for several large-scale clinical studies within ODAP.

Your skills and attributes for success:

Degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field (e.g., data science, software development, bioinformatics).
Strong experience with data management and analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R).
Experience working with clinical and/or genomic data.
Proficiency in data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or Python frameworks like Dash and Plotly).
Understanding of web development (e.g., HTML, CSS, Markdown), and willingness to learn tools like Jekyll for website maintenance.
