Summary
This exciting new role has three elements to it:
Community Engagement: working closely with Council services, the role will deliver high-quality and well-planned consultation & engagement activity with residents, organisations and community groups, ensuring that diverse and seldom heard community voices are heard.
Community Safety: supporting the Ipswich Community Safety Partnership with the delivery of strategies and plans, the role will engage with a wide range of people and partner services to facilitate community safety engagement activity, in line with the Council’s statutory duties.
Community Related Funding: the role will provide efficient management and monitoring of the Councils funding support to the VCFSE sector and community organisations. Provide advice, guidance and signposting to support groups to achieve positive outcomes for local people.
This role will see you at the forefront of some of the Council’s key areas of work so, the successful candidate will need to be an effective communicator and efficient at time management. You will have the ability to engage with different stakeholders, residents and community groups and experience of organising and involving people in community activities. You will be able to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and have excellent report writing skills, strong experience of working with MS packages, be highly organised and able to manage and prioritise your own workload. A flexible approach to work with a willingness to adapt as circumstances change is essential for this role. You will be a motivated team player, with a passion for engagement that includes co-production and participation of people from seldom heard groups.
You will be required to travel across Ipswich using public transport or a Council pool car.
DBS clearance is required for this role.
This post is offered on a permanent basis.
This is a hybrid working role (a minimum of 2 days per week working in the office).
