Summary of the role

The Enterprise Power BI Development Lead is responsible for overseeing and planning the design and delivery of a cloud-based Power BI solution for Diligenta. This role involves creating and embedding Diligenta standards across all accounts, ensuring robust controls and governance for accurate and timely data. The individual will lead a team in the UK and India to understand business requirements, set functional specifications, and translate data into reporting dashboards and solutions. The goal is to support better decision-making and align with the 'One Diligenta' model by leveraging data and software solutions.

What you will be doing

  • Lead and develop a dedicated development team in the UK and India ensuring cloud based solutions and Power BI best practices are implemented
  • Support with the design and structure, integration and set up of the Microsoft cloud solution in Microsoft Fabric, including structured and unstructured data. Ensure design, functionalities and usage are implemented and maintained.
  • Produce automated MI, reporting and dashboard delivery in Power BI, with a stable development infrastructure with the required controls and governance to provide accurate data delivery.
  • Performance management and development of direct reports through observing behaviors, giving feedback and coaching, ensuring robust objectives are set and are aligned to the corporate competencies.
  • Improve operational efficiency and productivity through standardisation, automation and best practice.
  • Understanding the needs and desired outcomes from stakeholders from requirements gathering, solution design and deployment.
  • Build strong stakeholder working relationships internally and with external suppliers and vendors.
  • Produce and maintain documentation in relation to Power BI solutions, including data models, reports, and dashboards.
  • Support the delivery of the Enterprise MI, Planning, and Insights strategy.

What we're looking for

Commercial experience:

  • 10 plus years related work experience in a in a similar role within financial services / pensions / investments / insurance industry.
  • Setup, developed and led remote functions across multiple locations.
  • Implemented and embedded a new and consistent working model into a business with a structured and streamlined approach.
  • Robust data control and governance experience.
  • Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills.
  • Extensive data modelling experience.
  • Negotiating and influencing at senior level.
  • Ability to lead tender and contract negotiations from start to finish.
  • GDPR and associated regulations.
  • Third Party and supplier management.

Technical Experience

  • Strong knowledge of database design and management in a cloud environment, Azure or AWS with Microsoft Fabric solution.
  • Knowledge of security and database maintenance including monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues.
  • Power BI - Expertise in analytical and data visualisation techniques and best practices.
  • Experience with model optimisation and performance tuning in Power BI
  • Configuration and management of PowerBI tenants, including licence and capacity management and sizing.
