The role
As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will support the project manager in ensuring appropriate control is applied to financial, commercial and resource decision making.

Day-to-day, you'll deliver key project management functions in support of the overall project delivery, including schedule, financial and risk functions.

  • Support the development of accurate and up-to-date financial and schedule estimates to ensure the project is accurately planned and reported.
  • Manage the planning, monitor and control of work packages being delivered by other internal and external resources and assist in the reporting of project progress, risks, and issues.
  • Apply the Business Management System (BMS) appropriately for the project and produce and communicate project-reporting data on project controls and finance systems.
  • Undertake aspects of stakeholder management and communications activities, both internal and external.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week with a minimum of three days in the office per week. You can be based in Bristol Business Park, Newbury Business Park or Warrington.

Essential experience of the Assistant Project Manager

  • Awareness of the project lifecycle from bid phase through to close out.
  • Engineering principles and common project challenges.
  • Application of core project management techniques.
  • Managing multi-discipline engineering teams during design phases (concept & detailed design) is an advantage.

Qualifications for the Assistant Project Manager

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering / project / construction management or a related field (or equivalent).
  • APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ).

Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
