A Vacancy at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to work with us.

Please see below for detailed job description of the role.

Begin your career at one of the leading centres of clinical excellence in southern England. Apply for our two-year guided fellowship programme, designed to give you the bespoke support you need to become a skilled candidate, ready for entry into UK specialty training programmes.

We are seeking to appoint Foundation Fellowship Doctors at Year 3 Level. These posts are to commence on the 6th August 2025 for a period of 24 months.

The Foundation Fellowship Programme is an exciting opportunity for trainees interested in pursuing a career in Medicine. This opportunity will allow you to gain experience of clinical medicine specialities, and depending on grade to be involved in the on-call rota.
Successful candidates will spend their time in various sub-specialties, rotating at 6 monthly intervals. This gives candidates a great opportunity to spend time in a subspecialty and work closely with leaders in that field.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU
As one of the largest acute teaching Trusts in England, we offer learning and development opportunities to help you achieve the career you aspire to. UHS is rated ‘Good’ by the CQC and in the latest national NHS Staff Survey, we were in the top 10 acute trusts for staff engagement and for staff recommending the hospital as a place to work or receive care.

We support flexible working and will consider requests taking into account the needs of the service. UHS employees are able to access a range of NHS discounts, are entitled to a minimum of 35 days paid holiday (pro rata), and we offer a generous pension scheme.

Southampton is an attractive place to live and work situated on the south coast, with an international airport and direct trains to London. The New Forest National Park and beaches of the Jurassic coast are also right on our doorstep. The city offers living costs 20% lower than London and 14 schools rated outstanding by Ofsted.

You’ll need to demonstrate:
- responsible and cooperative working
- initiative and resilience in the face of challenges
- excellent time management and organisational skills
- drive and commitment to always developing and improving
- the ability to prioritise clinical need, maximise safety and minimise risk
- understanding and anticipation of the needs of patients, visitors and staff
