The Role: Yard Manager

Location: Rochester

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum doe

Working Pattern:

Working hours are Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00. The site operates on a 2-shift system 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00 Monday to Friday.

The Role:

This is an operational role, overseeing the site on a day-to-day basis.

The successful candidate will report to the senior management team and will be responsible for managing a small team of up to 17 employees.

You will also hold responsibility for, although not limited to;

Organise and oversee staffing for the site (including: involvement with recruitment of new staff, training of staff, monitoring of attendance and reviewing performance).
Maintain compliance with H&S procedures and drive best practices.
Ensure production targets are met.
Carry out stock takes for pallets and timber and monitor inventory (PPE, tooling and other items of equipment).
Source and purchase required materials.
Ensure equipment is maintained.
Drive organizational Improvements.
Full Training to be provided and support provided by senior management.

The ideal candidate will have:

Strong Leadership and management skills
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in performance management and employee development
Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure
Thorough and organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once
FLT Counterbalance licence
