Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for onefull time Family Nursesto join the Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) Team to work within Wandsworth. FNP trained applicants is preferable but not essential, as full training will be provided by the FNP National Unit.
FNPis an evidenced based home visiting programme for first time mothers. The programme is designed to support and improve the health, wellbeing and social outcomes of young mothers and their children.
This is a specialist role which requireshigh standardsof professional practice, excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
The Post holderis required tobe a registered Nurse, Midwife or Health Visitor, have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in the community and with complex families. A sound knowledge of safeguarding and the Healthy Start Programme is desirable.
The post holder will be committed to principles and core model elements of the Family Nurse Partnership Programme.
The Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) is a national evidence-based programme. The aim of the programme is to improve the antenatal health, child health and development and parents’ economic self-sufficiency in disadvantaged young families.
This roleis responsible fordelivering the FNP intensive, preventive home visiting programme to vulnerable, hard to reach young women who are expecting their first baby. Post holders willbe requiredto develop high-level generalist and specialist skills to work within the clinical methods of the structured programme. Family nurses will be expected to develop therapeutic relationships with clients and work intensively within complex family situations to achieve the expected outcomes of the programme.
This is a demanding specialist role requiringhigh levelsof professional skills and practice and the ability to work as part of a team.
