The Trust is seeking a general adult consultant psychiatrist forJupiter Ward, a mixed adult acute ward at Springfield Hospital. This is an established post.The vacancy has arisen as a result ofresignation of the current postholder.
The post-holder will provide medical leadership toJupiter Ward.The Consultant will work closely with the Ward Manager to ensure a safe, efficient and effective service that meets the Trust’s Key Performance Indicators.
While individual clinicians within the team have responsibility for the clinical care they deliver, the consultant shares with the ward manager and other team members responsibility for ensuring the care delivered by the team is safe and of a good standard. This includes participating in systems of audit and clinical governance, working to resolve problems on their own initiative, and where necessary drawing any concerns they have been unable to resolve themselves to the attention of the team manager and others.
South West London & St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust is a provider of the full range of mental health services in South West London. It was established in 1994 initially providing services in the London Boroughs of Merton and Wandsworth. The Trust has grown substantially over the years, and now serves a local population of over 1 million people across the Boroughs of Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton and Wandsworth.
The post will be managerially and professionally responsible to the Clinical Director for theAcute and urgent CareService Line.
