Job Overview:

We are seeking a Lead Engineer - BMS to join our BMS Operations Regional Team. This is a mobile engineering role, where you will spend four days per week traveling to various sites to provide BMS engineering services, and one day per week handling administrative tasks such as approving timesheets, managing expenses, and conducting performance reviews. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a mid-level engineer to step into a leadership role, while maintaining a balance between hands-on technical work and operational management. You will also be the key point of contact for client escalations and will provide technical guidance to your team. Key Responsibilities:

-Mobile Engineering & Site Work:

-Spend 4 days per week on-site performing BMS system installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.

-Work with your team to carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), call-outs, and remedial work, ensuring high standards of service delivery.

-Offer technical support and guidance to team members when complex issues arise on-site.

-Administrative & Leadership Tasks:

-Dedicate 1 day per week to administrative duties such as approving timesheets, managing expenses, and conducting performance reviews for engineers.

-Additional administrative time will be allocated during peak periods such as annual reviews or other operational milestones.

-Lead monthly toolbox talks, promoting best practices, safety standards, and team engagement.

-Client Escalation & Relationship Management:

-Be the first point of contact for client escalations, ensuring prompt and professional resolution of issues. This includes advising planning on how best to schedule call-outs / small works on how best to schedule remedials

-Build and maintain strong relationships with customer site teams, ensuring that all work meets client expectations and contractual requirements.

-Team Support & Development:

-Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to your team of engineers, promoting continuous learning and upskilling.

-Foster a positive team environment by setting clear expectations, offering support, and encouraging collaboration.

-Operational Collaboration:

-Work closely with the Regional Operations Manager to ensure the timely delivery of all planned and reactive works.

-Be the main point of contact for the planning team, addressing any issues that arise during scheduling and work delivery.

Skills & Qualifications:

-Experience:

-At least 3-5 years of experience working within the BMS industry as an engineer, with a strong understanding of BMS systems, HVAC systems, and electrical systems.

-Mid-level engineer with leadership potential. Prior management experience is preferred but not essential.

-Technical Knowledge:

-Proficiency with BMS technologies (e.g.,Trend, N4, Honeywell, Siemens, Johnson Controls) and HVAC systems.

-Strong hands-on experience in troubleshooting and diagnosing complex technical issues related to BMS and integrated systems.



-Personal Attributes:

-Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve technical challenges efficiently.

-Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, team members, and management.

-Organizational Skills: Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities across both technical and administrative domains.

-Calmness Under Pressure: Ability to stay composed and focused in high-pressure situations, particularly when dealing with client escalations or complex technical issues.

-Qualifications:

-Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or similar).

-HVAC or electrical qualifications are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Familiarity with industry standards and health and safety regulations related to BMS, HVAC, and building services.

-Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) or other work order management tools.
