About the Role

The post holder will be working for Nottingham City Council’s Enviroenergy department as a Technician Level 3 on the Nottingham district heating network and plant. You will play a critical role in maintaining the plant's performance, optimising the network's efficiency, and ensuring uninterrupted service to customers. This includes routine inspections, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of equipment and infrastructure within the district heating plant and its associated network. General maintenance duties will also include keeping the plant tidy, assisting with the stores function, painting equipment where required and other maintenance duties as instructed by the Principal Maintenance and Operations Engineer.

Nottingham City Council Enviroenergy are an innovative forward-thinking team, the post holder will be heavily involved in the development and delivery of new solutions to the decentralised energy market.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

· Hold a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Electrical or Plumbing

· Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines

· Able to read and understand technical diagrams and blueprints

· Experience of working in a customer facing environment

· Ability to be creative, to be able to identify problems and work to create solutions.

· Hold a full current driving licence

· Energy industry experience is desirable

- This post is covered by the statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) (English Language Requirement for public sector workers) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English, is an essential requirement for the role.

- The role requires you to participate in the on-call rota.
