Summary

To lead and manage the successful delivery of capital projects and activities that support the overall vision for the Council/locality. In doing so, ensure that results are delivered to the required standard of quality and within the specified constraints of time and costs.
Our Major Projects and Capital Delivery Team is a forward thinking service offering a range of construction related disciplines across the council. We provide design, project management and financial/contract management services from Options Feasibility to Completion (RIBA 0 to 6).

Reporting to the Head of Construction & Development you'll be responsible for leading and managing a team delivering a wide variety of education retail, leisure, and other construction projects. The service is currently managing a wide range of projects ranging from major schemes such as Chester and Crewe Archives, conservation projects on listed buildings, general council building works through to an extensive school improvement programme.

Your role will be to lead on the range of projects within the Capital Programme and deliver effectively to the Council Plan. You'll also lead on stakeholder relationships with client services and ensure that consultant teams and direct reports are operating within council regulations and contract procedure rules.

You'll be educated to degree level or equivalent and have experience of leading and manging consultant and staff teams, in addition to a track record of the successful delivery of the types of projects listed above. Demonstration of the ability to successfully manage and negotiate with contractors and consultants is essential.
