Job Advert

We are looking for a Service Designer to join our ‘Innovation and Digital’ team at Falkirk Council.

This is a hybrid working post! You can work from home or visit our local office (The Foundry) in Larbert.

Who are we?

We use service design and technology to improve the quality and efficiency of Council services by:

  • Developing innovative digital solutions to meet business and customer needs
  • Using Service Design to co-design services with users
  • Challenging existing business practices
  • Ensuring best practice and continuous improvement

About you

You will be an experienced Service Designer with a degree in an appropriate discipline or relevant experience.

You will have experience in driving customer focused change across Council services with an emphasis on digital transformation using the Scottish approach to Service Design (SatSD).

You will work to build relationships with service teams and in-house developers to co-design services across the council. You will gather and analyse user and service insights, taking a benefits-led approach to identify potential improvements, efficiencies, and benefits.

You will encourage and promote cross-team collaboration and culture change to co-design solutions with a user focus, whilst considering council values and goals.

You will often lead the Service Design phase of projects, planning and managing your own workload whilst maintaining project management documentation.
