About the role

Amazing infrastructure isn’t the only thing that gets built here. Incredible careers do too. Join our Rail team as a Transport Planner and you can build something to be proud of.

Once training is completed, the role will become hybrid so we are inviting applications from wide across the South of England (London, Kent, Wessex, Sussex, etc.)

What you'll be doing

As a Transport Planner your main responsibilities will be as follows:-

  • Allocate resources to machines c.60 driver/operators;
  • Assign resources in accordance to the Sentinel training programme;
  • Daily routine checks i.e. runnings, route knowledge & rosters are still correct prior to handing over to control centre;
  • Deal with real time changes by internal and external customers;
  • Take responsibility of a four week plan;
  • Responsible for ensuring machines are planned to arrive on site correctly by liaising with the Contract Delivery Manager.

Who we're looking for

We will be looking for the following qualities/skills from the successful candidate:

  • Analytical and problem solving;
  • Good understanding and management of data and processes;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Time Management and negotiation skills;
  • IT competent;
  • Knowledge in scheduling, including the ability to create, manage, and optimize schedules using industry-standard tools.
