This is an exciting role for an analytics developer to join the Power BI centre of excellence at East London. This function will be supporting and designing advanced Power BI solutions, including real time analytical dashboards, underpinned by measurement for improvement and bespoke data analysis.

Joining an accredited (LSD Excellence in Informatics - Level 1 2023) and award-winning (RSS Florence Nightingale Award 2022, HSJ Digital Awards 2024) Data and Analytics department you will have a passion for data science techniques, app design and visualization best practice to champion the use of automation and data to support the trust objectives.

You will be supported by a cloud-based modern data architecture and a strategic training plan based on the National Competency Framework for Data Professionals (NHS E/I)

The role involves the production of detailed analytics using the latest analytical tools such as PowerBI from a variety of Trust data sources across the full spectrum of Trust services.

The post holder will have excellent data analysis skills and the ability to present complex data to support the trusts objectives and the needs of the population we serve.

The post holder will analyse data from a range of Trust systems and present an integrated view of information, via self-service dashboards.

1. Analytics

1.1. The ability to analyse and interpret complex data and information from a variety of sources and formats into information that is consistent, accurate, relevant and appropriate for use by a variety of audiences.

1.2. To provide analytics for the trusts key stakeholders, including front line staff, corporate functions and central bodies.

1.3. To have a solid understanding of data validation techniques to ensure information reported is valid, consistent, and accurate.

1.4. To have an understanding of NHS data and performance definitions.

1.5. Advanced Power BI skills for data interpretation, analysis, and manipulation.

1.6. To have the ability to concentrate for long periods of time when analysing complex data.

1.7. To understand and support the Trust’s quality improvement programme.

1.8. Strong knowledge of Power BI Desktop and Service, SQL, DAX, and data modelling techniques.

1.9. To support the Analytics Lead in the development and maintenance of Power BI Analytics solutions.

1.10. The ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

1.11. Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and the ability to present data insights clearly.

1.12. The ability to troubleshoot technical issues, identify data quality problems, and break down complex problems into smaller, manageable tasks.
