We have an opening to support our Pharmaceutical client within the Irvine, North Ayrshire area, offering Laboratory support working within an integrated environment and with a well established team

Job Overview

The Lab Support Coordinator will coordinate the team in rotation of tasks to ensure business resilience, reporting into the Lab Support Team Lead and is accountable for overseeing as well as performing the delivery of all contracted services undertaken by the Lab Support team, which includes, but is not limited to:

-Eluent/Mobile phase preparation

-Glassware cleaning

-Stock & Stores Management

-Retained samples and customer order preparation

-Waste management

-Laboratory equipment PQ Testing

-Raw Material sampling

-Stability sampling

-Ensuring coordination of the team around tasks, training, cover for absences and holidays as determined by business needs.

-Compliance with GSK/Mitie processes and procedures.

-Working to rigorous standards.

-Escalation of issues.

Due to the nature of the 24/7 site, this role will require the covering of weekends and bank holidays.

Anyone with an allergy to penicillin will not be considered for the role due to the product being made at site.

Key Accountabilities

-Coordination of the activities and tasks of the Lab Support Team to ensure the core tasks are delivered to the agreed specification and performance standards

-Accountable for adopting the ALCOA+ (attributable, legible, contemporaneous, original & accurate) principles.

-Maintaining 100% in MyLearning & Mitie Learning hub

-Ensure scheduled lab equipment PQ testing is completed in line with the plan

-Flexibility to cover any activities that supports plant production

-Ensuring cover for absences and holidays as determined by business needs

-Deputising and escalating issues or risks to the Lab Support Team Lead in a timely manner

What we are looking for

-Educated from A level/Higher upwards in a science subject (preferably chemistry)

-1+ year experience of working within a similar GxP environment essential.

-Attention to detail & capability to work methodically to strict processes and procedures

-Ability to communicate effectively and foster good working relationships with a wide range of client, internal and external roles

-Confidence and communication skills to challenge behaviours and drive continuous improvement.

-Can perform under pressure and independent of supervision

-Position requires individual to be mobile (moving to/from various laboratories) and some physical lifting will be necessary

There will be an element of supervisory required with this role and will suit an experienced individual looking for their first step towards a management role
