About ITS

Independent Training Services Ltd. and SmartStyle Training Ltd. (ITS) are national training providers. Whether you are looking for employability skills, apprenticeships or professional training courses, we consistently deliver quality vocational training and education from the classroom to the boardroom.

By bringing together our expertise in commercial training, workforce development and apprenticeships we are well-placed to make a real difference to individual students and businesses alike.

We provide quality training to students who are already employed or preparing to enter into their chosen profession. Our comprehensive portfolio includes accredited end-user IT, business and employability skills courses for individual students, alongside apprenticeships and workforce development for local, regional and national employers. These are delivered by our in-house team of experienced and qualified trainers online, at employer sites and through our network of training centres.

The Opportunity

In this rewarding role, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning sessions aimed at supporting individuals to gain the essential employability skills and personal development qualifications they need to secure sustained employment. Your role will involve teaching a variety of topics, including job search strategies, positive attitudes, health and safety, mental health awareness, personal development, safeguarding, and customer service skills. These areas are vital for learners as they prepare to enter the workforce or progress further in their careers.
You will work closely with learners across South and West Yorkshire, providing them with the support and guidance needed to enhance their employability prospects. The courses are delivered in partnership with Jobcentre Plus and local employers, which means you’ll be helping people from diverse backgrounds gain the skills they need to move into sustainable, long-term employment.
You will be responsible for tailoring your teaching approach to meet the individual needs of each learner, ensuring that they develop the knowledge, confidence, and skills required for success in their chosen field. You will also have the opportunity to work with local employers, creating links that benefit both the learners and the wider community.
As part of this role, you will ensure learners are fully prepared for the real-world challenges they may face in the workplace by covering essential topics such as safeguarding, British Values, and the Prevent Duty. Additionally, you will focus on improving learners' English and maths skills, which are crucial for both career progression and personal development.
You will be involved in all stages of the learner journey, from conducting initial assessments and delivering inductions to providing continuous support and tracking their progress. This role also includes regularly collecting feedback from learners and employers to evaluate the effectiveness of the courses and ensure we continue to meet their needs.
This role offers a dynamic and fulfilling opportunity to make a real difference in learners’ lives while supporting their journey into long-term, sustainable employment.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need strong teaching and interpersonal skills. You will be responsible for conducting high-quality initial assessments and providing guidance to prospective learners. Delivering exceptional inductions across employability courses and workshops is key, as is tracking attendance and reporting any non-attendance to stakeholders.
You will support learners’ short- and long-term progression into employment by planning and delivering engaging sessions that develop their skills, knowledge, and behaviours. This includes creating session plans, schemes of work, and learner resources. Additionally, you will deliver content on E&D, Safeguarding, Prevent, and British Values, and support learners’ English and maths skills throughout the courses.
Assessing learners and providing timely developmental feedback to support their progress is essential. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, completing learner surveys, and gathering case studies for promotional purposes. Regular updates to your line manager on course progression will be required, along with attending workforce development activities and meetings.
You should be an experienced, passionate educator dedicated to helping learners succeed and contributing to the organisation’s success.
This role is home-based, with venue parking costs covered. Travel expenses can be claimed after the first 15 miles. If you’re looking to join a team that cares about staff wellbeing, values personal development, and strives to positively impact student experiences, ITS is the place for you!
