Crynodeb
1. Able to provide and receive complex, sensitive information; Overcome barriers to understanding or delivering information; Working in an occasionally hostile, antagonistic, or highly emotive atmosphere. Communicates sensitive/highly sensitive, confidential information concerning patients.2. Demonstrates an excellent level of communication skills to provide appropriate support, relevant information, and education to facilitate decision-making on proceeding with ERCP/EUS/oesophageal stents. There will be instances whereby patients and/or their families have barriers to understanding.3. Discuss with patients and their family/carers the treatments available, in order to assist in their knowledge and understanding of their condition and to aid the informed consent process.4. Describe the potential complexities and outcomes related to these procedures.5. To communicate empathically when discussing sensitive information with patients and their family/carers regarding diagnosis, prognosis, treatment options and outcomes of illness, including future care, quality of life and potential side effects.
