We are an ambitious, innovative and inclusive Law School where our staff work hard to advance knowledge, inspire students and transform futures.
We are currently recruiting for a Lecturer in Law for our growing Professional Law programmes. Working with an experienced team of Professional Law colleagues, the successful applicant will teach, assess and support students primarily on the Solicitors Training Corse. We are seeking applicants with current or previous practice experience as a solicitor in one or more of the following areas: Criminal related subjects, Wills and Probate, Property Law and/or Property Law and Practice . Experience of teaching in a HE setting is desirable, but not essential. It is expected successful applicants will also undertake module leadership role on the Professional Law courses and supervise dissertations/projects. Successful candidates will also work closely with the Head of School, Associate Directors and Programme Leaders to continue the development of the School’s learning and teaching initiatives and ensure the innovative nature of the curriculum.
About you:
We are seeking to recruit innovative, inclusive and collaborative individuals for these roles. These roles are a permeant appointment as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer and the candidates must have current or previous experience of practice as a solicitor or barrister in at least one or more of the following areas: Business Law and Practice, Property Law and Practice, Wills and Probate, Criminal related subjects, Civil Law and Solicitor’s Accounts. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills, strong organisational and time management skills, and the ability to communicate complex information effectively. A commitment to a student-centred approach and maintaining high ethical standards is crucial. In addition, the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and manage demanding situations is important.
