Crynodeb
The Visits Liaison Officer (VLO) is responsible for project managing, developing, coordinating and delivering all 2 Star and above military and civilian bespoke Very Important Person (VIP) visits to HMNB Clyde on behalf of Naval Base Commander Clyde (NBC) and Commander Submarine Flotilla (ComSubFlot). Through a thorough understanding of the security, safety and wider polices that impact on every visit, the VLO ensure each visit complies with the VIP Visits Defence Information Notice which details the procedure for requesting and arranging a visit to HMNB Clyde.
The VLO acts as the VIP Visits Subject Matter Expert (SME) and as such leads on behalf of the Base on all discussions on future visits including briefing Seniors up to and including the highest levels in the Ministry of Defence (MOD) & Other Government Departments (OGDs).
The VLO manages a Deputy Visits Liaison Officer (Executive Officer level) and an Assistant Visits Liaison Officer (Administrative Officer level) and ensures they have the resources required to complete their tasking whilst overseeing that all outputs remain at a high corporate standard, incorporating all the objectives that the individual VIP requires whilst ensuring that every VIP visit does not attract any negative or adverse publicity.
