PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Identify, discuss and action own professional performance and training / development needs with your line manager through appraisal / individual development plan. To participate in all mandatory training as required, i.e. fire safety, information governance and all other mandatory training. Attend KLS information science group meetings, and other professional activity and working groups You should pursue a programme of continuous professional development in accordance with any relevant professional registration or statutory requirements For a full list of essential and desirable criteria, please refer to the attached job description Selection Process Details Stage 1: Application & Sift Competency-based assessment You will be required to complete an application form. You will be assessed on essential criteria, and this will be in the form of: an Application Form (Employer/ Activity history section on the application) a 1,250 word Statement of Suitability. This should outline how your skills, experience and knowledge provide evidence of your suitability for the role, with reference to the essential criteria. The CV and Statement of Suitability will be marked separately, and you must pass both to move forward to interview. In the event of a large number of applications we will shortlist on the lead criteria of: Experience of using health care or scientific resources, including excellent information retrieval skills, using a variety of platforms Please note that candidates in the Disability Confident Scheme will be shortlisted if you meet the minimum essential criteria Late applications will not be considered. If you are successful at this stage, you will progress to interview & assessment Please do not exceed 1,250 words. Stage 2: Interview You will be invited to a remote interview where you will be tested on your knowledge, experience, skills & abilities. Eligibility CriteriaOpen to all external applicants (anyone) from outside the Civil Service (including by definition internal applicants). Location This role is being offered as hybrid working. We offer great flexible working opportunities at UKHSA and operate using a hybrid working model where business needs allow. This provides us with greater flexibility about how and where we work, to get the best from our workforce. As a hybrid worker, you will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of your contractual working hours (approximately 3 days a week pro rata, averaged over a month) working at one of UKHSA's core HQs (Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, and London). Security Clearance Level Requirement Successful candidates must pass a disclosure and barring security check. Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed.
