Summary
Hays Life Sciences have been exclusively retained by IMU Biosciences to recruit a Senior Scientist to join their lab team.IMU Biosciences is a fast-growing biotech company pioneering immunology-first approaches to a variety of therapeutic areas. With a highly collaborative environment and cutting-edge technologies, they are building a platform that transforms how immune-driven diseases are understood and treated.This is a hands-on, lab-focused role based at their site near Canary Wharf, where you will play a critical part in running single-cell assays and ensuring the smooth operation of their experimental pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Run and troubleshoot single-cell RNA sequencing assays.
- Experimental design for early-stage discovery projects.
- Manage day-to-day lab operations, ensuring samples are processed and assays delivered on time.
- Oversee lab logistics including ordering, budgeting, and maintaining workflows.
- Collaborate with CROs, external partners, and internal discovery/data science teams.
- Provide guidance and training to junior lab members as the team expands.
- Contribute to assay development and automation projects as opportunities arise.
- Communicate effectively across cross-functional teams to support immunology-focused research.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven hands-on experience with single-cell transcriptomics assays (RNA Seq essential), using platforms such as 10x, Parse, or similar.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to independently drive experiments to completion.
- Background or interest in immunology, with a preference for candidates who have worked within drug discovery / development.
- Experience in lab management or supervision (formal line management not required) would be a distinct advantage.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and self-motivation in a fast-paced biotech environment.
- Experience with automated systems would be valuable, as would exposure to dealing with CROs or external collaborators, but this is not essential.
