Job Title: Quality Assurance Director
Report to: Head of Support Services
Key Working Relationships (Internal): Leadership Team, Admin Team, Area Manager, Service Users, Staff
Key Working Relationships (External): Commissioners, Statutory Services, Voluntary Services, Family
Responsible for: Quality Assurance
Direct Reports: FAS Team/Staff Teams
Salary: £42,500 per annum
Hours of work: 35 hours per week

Job Summary
• To lead on quality assurance in liaison with Area Manager.
• To provide line management to JUST’s FAS Team*.
• To oversee quality standards in the delivery of services to people with complex needs who are vulnerable and in need of support.
• To implement quality standards by providing management cover or shadowing across services.
*These are elite support workers who have a flexi role across JUST to improve quality, provide cover and upskill staff.
This is achieved by:
• Diligent operational management in line with JUST’s policies and procedures, values, standards, and objectives.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Staff Management
• To line manage FAS Team and staff teams when shadowing or providing cover in accordance with JUST HR policies and procedures.
• To ensure that staff have the necessary skills and abilities to carry out their tasks and that they understand the standards and performance expected.
• To ensure that staff participate in learning opportunities and attend training as required.
• To ensure effective communication with staff from different disciplines, visiting therapists and specialised clinicians.
• To ensure staff have a local induction.
• To ensure staff are familiar with the needs, risks, presentations of each service user.

Communication & Information
• To ensure that effective filing and record systems are operated and maintained in compliance with data protection.
• To ensure that there is a strong focus on multi-agency working and ongoing dialogue and liaison with key stakeholders.

Working with service users
• To liaise with Managers to ensure that service users are visited initially in line with the agreed referral procedures and that an initial service response is given promptly.
• To ensure that staff, are encouraging service users to maximise their independence within the framework of a structured and individually tailored support plan and that opportunities for development are supported.
• To ensure the safeguarding of vulnerable adults through staff training and following appropriate policies and procedures.
• To ensure that effective links are made and maintained with suitable external agencies.

Quality

• To lead on the development and implementation of accommodation-based quality monitoring systems.
• To ensure the support planning is SMART and reflects service user outcomes and objectives.
• To set the standards in liaison with Area Manager for health and safety, maintenance, cleanliness and tidiness including in service user’s accommodation.

Finance and Administration

• To set quality standards to minimise voids and vacancies in liaison with managers, area managers and the appropriate external agencies by progressing any referrals promptly.

Operational Matters

• To ensure as far as is reasonably practicable that the Health and Safety (Including fire safety) complies with our policy, procedures and legislation.
• To promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of work.
• To ensure that JUST’s operational policies and procedures are followed and adhered to and that project staff, have access to, and understand the requirements.
• To positively represent JUST at any relevant fora and meetings.
• To ensure that all referrers are kept updated about service responses, following discussion with staff team, patch managers, area managers, external agencies, and service users.

Other Duties
• To undertake any other duties and responsibilities appropriate to the post, as may be required from time to time.

Qualifications and experience
• Significant, successful experience of work adult social care.
• Successful experience of managing staff preferably in a health, social care setting.
• Experience of delivering high quality services.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Understanding of what makes a quality assured service.
• Knowledge and understanding of complex needs.
• Good IT, record keeping and admin skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
• Good understanding of H&S practices and legislation.
• Knowledge and understanding of the safeguarding of vulnerable adults.
• Commitment to, understanding of and ongoing management of equality of opportunity, inclusion, and diversity.
