Summary
A Vacancy at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.
The post holder will oversee the delivery and further development of the Clinical Health Psychology and Clinical Neuropsychology services provided by BSMHFT within University Hospitals (UHB) and will be responsible for the operational leadership, planning and delivery of services across Clinical Health Psychology and Clinical Neuropsychology services on behalf of Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. As a member of the senior management team, the post holders will contribute to the shaping of the strategic direction for the services and ensure its implementation within defined timescales.
The role is pivotal in assisting the Clinical Director, Associate Director, Chief Psychologist, Director of Nursing, Deputy Director of Nursing and Quality and other professional heads with the delivery of appropriate professional standards and clinical service across the Trust.
The post holder will need to have proven experience in a leadership role and demonstrate innovative and dynamic ways of working within clinical health psychology and clinical neuropsychology. Key to success will be a sound knowledge and experience of operational service issues within mental health and acute health environments, the ability to operate in complex and changing services; effective partnership working across a diverse community and complex health systems; well-developed communication skills and the ability to lead redesign without compromising service delivery.
Assesses on a regular basis the performance trends and service user feedback of the teams within their responsibility and work with the clinical leads to design service improvements within their teams using data to meet Key Performance Indicators assigned to the services
Work with peers and the Associate Director of Operations to deliver the redesign and continuous improvement of services, transforming service delivery in terms of quality, performance and value for money within available resources.
Manages partnership arrangements in relation to service delivery.
Review UHB and BSMHFT systems and operational processes to ensure lean working and effective communication between the two Trusts.
Demonstrates a leadership approach which promotes collaborative working in partnership with other services and agencies and across traditional service boundaries and professions
To review contracts and SLA’s to deliver common mental health and psychological treatments and therapeutic/management interventions to fidelity, protocol guidelines and appropriate professional standards.
Expected to be part of the out of hours on call Senior Manager rota and responsible for all organisational services out of hours across the trust including inpatients, forensic services and community services and required to make high level clinical and operational decisions to support all frontline staff
Responsible for oversight of correct use of clinical systems within both BSMHFT and UHB.
