Championing digital transformation initiatives. Through, the development of solutions that migrate away from our existing process and support our digital transformation journey. Making a real difference by adding value and improving customer interaction and user experiences.




Joining a talented team responsible for management, administration, and application development. We have significantly invested in cloud adoption, this work program will introduce and extend use of numerous new Cloud and Hybrid systems and platforms most notably a Customer facing Portal and Case Management Platforms. This is a challenging programme of work adapting and modernising ‘Development and Delivery’ practices within the Council.




We are recruiting across our career grade for posts in both our data and development teams. Appointment to a level will depend on the outcome of the selection process and experience of the successful candidate. Dependent on availability of work/vacancy at a higher level, progress will be by satisfactory performance, agreed at annual Appraisals and through on-going supervision.




These are full time permanent position, working 37 hours per week from Monday to Friday. You’ll have flexibility in hybrid working being both office based, at City Hall or working remotely from home to suit your needs. On occasion, you may be required to travel to the Data Centre to attend meetings.

What you’ll be doing


You’ll develop solutions on the Power Platform environment and on Visual Studios using .NET framework. If the role involves working with Data you’ll develop solutions using SSMS, Visual Studio to extract and transform data and build complex data models and present this data in a usable format using tools like Power BI. Working in a team building on new and existing foundations. Depending on your role, you’ll be required to:

Lead and mentor junior members of staff
Provide expert advice on problem solving and technical subject matters,
Communicate with Business Analysts and stakeholders on application functionality and design at all levels,
Produce functional and technical documentation
Designing and developing data processing jobs at a enterprise level.

What you’ll need




Having exposure to Platform as a service and Software as a service platforms would be advantageous. You’ll be familiar with agile methodologies and need experience in designing, developing, and deploying technical solutions. In addition, you’ll have proven ability for user interface design and possess a high attention to detail. With knowledge and experience of Microsoft developer tools including Visual Studio (Familiar with programming languages such as C#, JavaScript, PowerShell), SQL Server (TSQL & Data Tools) and Source control (TFS, Azure Dev Ops, Git), you will be able to communicate with and co‐ordinate tasks for colleagues across the organisation including other ICT sections and end‐users.




You should be capable of using one’s own initiative to perform well under pressure and manage competing priorities. Using a creative approach, you’ll be able to problem solving and utilise excellent communication and organisational skills when doing so. With your excellent presentation skills, you will deliver agile solutions, understanding the use of user stories, acceptance criteria and Kanban boards.
