Summary
We are looking to recruit a Dispensary Business Manager who would be responsible for managing the financial and staffing elements of our five dispensaries. The successful candidate will be integral in maintaining and improving the profitability of the dispensaries whilst supporting our Dispensary Team, which is made up of a five dispensaries. They will be responsible for developing processes within the team to ensure our practices are providing an efficient, high-quality service to our patients. To achieve this, they will monitor performance and outputs. You will need to be confident in implementing change, have excellent organisational skills and be prepared to use your own initiative on a day-to-day basis. Key Responsibilities To ensure the provision of efficient and high quality dispensing of medication to the eligible patients, and to ensure effective financial control of the dispensary Analysis of invoices for bonus stock and ensuring bonus stock is received Monthly review of the Drug Tariff for price and category changes. Monthly review of Manufacturer Discount Schemes and any follow up with wholesalers/ representatives as needed. Responsible for the overall management of Prescription Pricing Authority submissions monthly to the Prescription Pricing Authority (PPA); preparing vaccine list; dealing with prescriptions returned by the PPA Liaison with wholesalers/ drug company representatives to ensure that best possible discounts are obtained Quality And Safety Development and maintenance of the standard operating procedures. Ensure the appropriate management of controlled drugs and high-risk medication within the dispensary Responsible for the implementation of Dispensary Services Quality Scheme in partnership with dispensary lead GP Partners Ensuring that drug recalls are managed in the dispensary in line with Standard Operating Procedures Overall, in change of undertaking any dispensary audits as advised at either practice/ local or national level, in conjunction with the dispensary lead GP. Team Management Manage team performance, provide regular 1:1s for team members based on the Practice continual performance management plan and work with the team to continually improve patient experience Facilitate workforce planning in conjunction with the dispensary lead GP and practice Manager Ensure team members are up to date with their mandatory training Provide new team members with a detailed training plan and provide ongoing support/reviews during probation periods Attend management meetings Liaise with the wider primary care team, external agencies as and when required Ensure the dispensary team is up to date with Practice updates and cascade information as and when required Ensure that all Lakeside practices follow MHRA guidance and alerts Ensure the wider team are aware as and when dispensary procedures change or are updated Implement the Practices confidentiality and privacy policies Follow the Practices safeguarding policies and procedures Promote and help maintain the Practices health and safety policies and oversee health and safety within the dispensaries Support the Practice with equality, diversity and rights of patients, carers and colleagues using the policies and procedures Participate in any training programme implemented by the Practice as part of this employment. Additionally, take responsibility for own development, learning and performance Help contribute to implementing change within the Practice Undertake any tasks consistent with the level of the post and the scope of the role
