As a caring individual working alongside registered nurses it is expected that you act in the best interests of your patients at all times and take personal responsibility for your actions and decisions, Putting Patients First in all We do To provide nursing care needs to patients under the supervision and guidance of senior staff. Participate in the admission and discharge of patients in conjunction with the multi-professional team as directed by a trained nurse. Escort patients to other areas of the hospital including theatres To work towards extended health care assistant competencies. Acquire a basic knowledge of conditions treated on the ward, and be aware of the hazards which may result from incorrect procedures. Communicate with members of the multidisciplinary team to facilitate continuity of care and promote effective team working. The post holder will work in partnership with the Ward / Department Sister to ensure that the standards of nursing care are met at all times. This includes assisting the ward / department Sister and the whole team to meet the agreed standards of hospital cleanliness within the work environment. Commitment to the development of nursing within the clinical setting under the guidance and supervision of senior staff, support senior staff in research based practice and learning along the line to improve patients care. Commitment to working in a multi-disciplinary team, acting professionally at all times in line with The Royal national Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust Values. Commitment to maintaining high standards of care in accordance with The Royal national Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust policies and procedures. Be responsible for learning, ensuring all Mandatory training are up to date at all times in line with Trust Learning and Development policy.
