Summary
We are at an exciting time within Urology at UHD and are looking to review and further develop the service. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Enhanced Clinical Practitioner (Band7 )or Trainee Enhanced Clinical Practitioner (Band 6, progressing to Band 7), with a specialist interest in Pelvic Surgery, to join our Urology Team.
The successful candidate will be supported with training and education where needed, to fulfil the remit of the role, including the clinical skills and knowledge required to manage the service and to meet the needs of patients with Stone Disease.
We are looking for individuals who are motivated and can work collaboratively with our team of consultants and highly experienced nurses, to deliver the best outcomes for patients accessing Urology care at UHD.
This role requires an active current registration with relevant professional body
Base Location: Bournemouth & Poole

Be autonomous , use specialist skills & knowledge, independently assess & manage emergency & elective urology conditions.
· Work as part of a highly functioning team to transform care
· Have a leadership role, supporting urology on-call team, strengthening relationships with medical team & ward teams.
· Consistently engage in training, academic & management to fulfil the ECP role
· Meet regularly with urology consultants, review waiting lists & identify areas of prioritisation.
· Be open & enthusiastic towards the transformation between the Poole and Bournemouth sites.
· Develop a sub-specialist interest & be a clinical lead for patients undergoing complex pelvic surgery with a focus on:o Work closely alongside cancer nurse specialist team to ensure patients are well informed & supported throughout their surgical pathway.
o Actively contribute to & help prioritise a radical prostatectomy and radical cystectomy waiting list incl overseeing pre-assessment.
o Become a specialist in enhanced recovery , with a focus on early mobilisation, early identification of post-op complications, improving patient outcomes after surgery & shortening hospital stays.
o Lead & independently manage aspects of post-op follow up for patients with radical cystectomy & radical prostatectomy.
o Lead & oversee bladder instillation treatments.
o Be passionate & flexible, ensuring best possible pathway for patients with radical prostatectomy and radical cystectomy.

Upon relocation of the role/service, excess mileage allowance / reimbursement will not apply, and any travel between the postholder’s home and work base will be classified as a commute.
