Crynodeb
In collaboration with the Divisional Medical Director and the ClinicalService Manager start to plan the Development of a Higher Specialist Training Programme in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology. Act as Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) for the Dental Hospital, the Dental Outreach Clinic in the City Centre. Appropriate training will be provided if needed with update training through the Regional Radiation Physics and Protection Service (RRPPS) at University Hospitals Birmingham. Provide advice, where appropriate, for staff within the Radiology Department and at other sites where x-ray equipment is used within Birmingham Dental Hospital and Dental Outreach Clinic. Liaise closely with the Trusts Radiation Protection Advisor and Medical Physics Expert as required by the Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 and Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2017. Have a responsibility for and oversee the running of and implementation of the undergraduate course in dental radiography and radiology. Including undertaking student assessments, monitoring student progress and participate as an examiner in University of Birminghams examinations and student tests.
