Key Responsibilities
The Strategy and Sustainability Analyst supports the company’s long-term business and sustainability objectives through detailed data analysis and reporting. This requires a highly analytical individual who enjoys working with data to inform both strategic planning (e.g., market analysis, business case support, KPI tracking) and sustainability efforts (e.g., ESG reporting, greenhouse gas accounting)

Responsibilities
Business strategy support
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to support strategic planning
Track and report on business KPIs, creating dashboards and reports for senior management and the Board
Provide analysis to inform decision-making on business growth opportunities and operational improvements
Conduct competitor analysis to benchmark the company against industry peers

Sustainability and ESG Reporting
Work closely with the Sustainability Manager to support Assist with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting
Conduct greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting
Analyse GHG data, identify and assess emissions reduction initiatives, and model emissions reduction pathways in line with the company’s GHG reductio targets

Reporting
Develop and maintain automated data pipeline and reporting tools to improve the efficiency of business and ESG reporting
Visualise data to present actionable insights in a clear and concise manner to key stakeholders
Monitor and refine data collection processes to improve efficiency and data accuracy

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
General Requirements
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
Strong attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality, accurate work
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively

Qualifications
Relevant degree in business, finance, engineering, sustainability or related field
This position is open to recent graduates with a strong appetite to learn and develop

Knowledge
Knowledge of the transport / rail sector is a plus, not a requirement
Keen interest in sustainability

Key Skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a good ability to identify trends and draw meaningful conclusions from data
Proficient in working with large datasets, analysing trends, and creating insightful reports
Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience of PowerBI and /or similar tools
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to present complex data in a clear, understandable way
