Summary

Our Client is one of the county Council's who are moving forward with innovation and they have a group of Engineers who work not only for the council but other local Authorities so the work is varied and continuous.

They are looking for a Street Lighting Engineer to assist in the Design and Management of the Street Lighting PFI to deliver the project and to ensure the Client's objectives are met.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the performance management of the contract to ensure the successful delivery of the street lighting PFI project and to ensure that the client's objectives are met.
  • Assist with the monitoring of the contract. Carry out surveys, site measurements and post works checks.
  • Ensure that the works are completed in accordance with agreed plans and specifications.
  • Preparation of progress reports.
  • Maintain contract records and deal with enquires from relevant sources.
  • Manage the implementation of supplementary works to the contract.
  • Provide technical support and advice on all aspects of public lighting.

Requirements:

  • HNC Electrical Engineering or equivalent electrical qualification. Incorporated Engineer or equivalent membership with a professional body.
  • Broad experience in the design and management of street lighting maintenance projects.
  • Detailed knowledge of street lighting design practice, regulation and maintenance strategy as well as Health & Safety and highway regulations as applicable.
  • Demonstration of communication skills and IT literate.
  • Ability to manage projects and resources to programme and cost with minimal supervision from management.
  • Must be able to fulfil the mobility requirements of the role
  • Meeting IPP targets.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
