ABOUT US
Transforming lives through excellent education

London Met is an extraordinary institution. Equity and social inclusion have always been our driving principles, and it's what makes the University so unique. Our organisation is distinctive, both in its eclectic and diverse community of students and staff, and also for its historical role in serving some of London’s most deprived boroughs. Everything we do is underpinned by our philosophy that an individual should have the opportunity to transform their life through the power of education.

Equipping our students with the tools for their future is at the heart of our academic offering. We pride ourselves on providing our students with access to a wealth of opportunities and professions. Our graduates benefit personally, but also contribute their unique perspectives to society, culture, public service and the economy in all areas of London, the UK and around the world.

Research are Knowledge Exchange are fundamental parts of this vision, informing every aspect of life at London Met and driving real impact and change in London and beyond.

ABOUT THE POST
This is an exciting Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) collaboration between London Met’s Guildhall School of Business and Mahogany to gain extraordinary experience transforming a fast-growing independent music business based in Shoreditch, London.

The KTP will design and implement a best-in-class, strategic and managerial infrastructure underpinned by rigorous academic theory to rapidly grow and extend the Mahogany brand as the music industry evolves, with an emphasis on international expansion. This will enable Mahogany to professionalise and scale into a renowned global brand, competing with names such as Universal Music, whilst maintaining their passionate authenticity.

With strong academic credentials and relevant industry experience, you’ll be supported by London Met’s experienced academics and Mahogany’s team of subject matter experts to deliver exceptional results.

Key objectives include:

- benchmarking against comparable brands to identify best practice management techniques
- ensuring globalisation strategy is fit-for-purpose, sets realistic KPIs, and is achievable alongside business-as-usual
- leveraging the current business model to maximise cross-selling opportunities
- identifying new global markets to create content and distribution channels, increasing sales and driving brand awareness globally
