The SEND Assessment and Review Team is going through a period of development with significant investment, and this is an exciting opportunity for anyone who wants to help shape and influence the future success of a dynamic and growing SEND service.

Key duties:
To provide a proactive casework management and service that is responsive, and customer focussed, for children, young people and their families with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) and in accordance with the requirements of the Children & Families Act 2014 and SEN Code of Practice 2015.
To co-ordinate, facilitate and process for the statutory Education Health and Care (EHC) assessment and review process.
Draft statutory Education Health & Care plans (EHCP) for children and young people as a result of EHC needs assessments or annual review amendments.
To facilitate and engage in partnership working to agree solutions to meet the needs of children and young people with SEND in a creative and outcome focused way.
To ensure effective co-production, co-planning and collaborative working takes place with parents, young people, and other professionals.
We are looking for someone who shares our belief in Hull City Council and our commitment to improving the lives of children and young people. You must have a passion to work in SEND and experience of working in education.A skillset in engaging and maintaining relationships with a wide range of stakeholders is paramount to the role.
We aim to put effective communication at the heart of our practice so you will need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work under pressure. You must be self-motivated with a high level of organisational skills, able to work within prescribed timescales and adhere to deadlines. A positive, can-do attitude is a must!
